Turn the Page
"Turning the Page" In the absence of man, the passage of time has been suspended for a vintage calendar. For 46 years, this artifact has been mounted on a rusty nail in the interior of an abandoned Carolina farmhouse. The hand of nature has patiently peeled back layers of wall coverings as she continues turning the page on the history of this country abode. (2013)
Photographer's Note - It is believed that the son of the farmer that lived in this old home worked on Capital Hill. Upon closer inspection, the photo on the last unturned page on the calendar is of the Capitol Building. I would like to believe that the old calendar was a gift from the son to his father who proudly displayed the gift in his living room for all to see.
