Rude Awakening

"Rude Awakening" Evening light shines through broken floor boards of late winter storm clouds. Once proud sentinels hang their broken limbs in defeat,their shattered canopies no longer a place of refuge for a slumbering orphan so rudely awakened by man and machine. (2015)

Photographers Notes - Storm clouds provide a dramatic background for an old Warren County, NC farmhouse recently uncovered by a logging company. It appears that the home was unfortunately the recipient of some rough handling as the protective grove of trees that once surrounded it was clear cut and unceremoniously dropped on and around the home.
