Scott Garlock Photography
"Scott has an amazing intuition to capture the essence of each structure. His photography ignites a spark .... a recollection of days long ago
and urges us to preserve and protect our past before these structures return to the earth."
Michael Ausbon Decorative Art Associate Curator at the North Carolina Museum of History

"Returned to Sender""Returned to Sender"
Down a red dirt lane saturated in peace and tranquility... resides an old rusty mailbox, a makeshift memorial to the life of a departed soul that much like the last letter it received has been returned to sender. (2014) Photographer's Notes While traveling rural Warren County, NC. I decided to go off the beaten path and follow a time eroded dirt lane that meandered it's way into the woods. There, I found the remains of an old asbestos shingled exterior home in complete ruin. All that exists of this diminutive Warren County, NC dwelling was its monolithic kitchen chimney and what was left of the broken foundation but the mailbox thankfully gave that small piece of ground provenance.
